Bulgaria will be the Honoured Country at the Forward Green 1st Circular Economy International Expo and will participate in the event with a large delegation of businesses and agencies. Bulgaria’s presence as the Honoured Country at Forward Green is expected to be a significant opportunity to create closer bilateral business relationships and broader partnership prospects between the two countries.
Forward Green will be held from 31 March to 2 April 2023 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre and it is an initiative of TIF-Helexpo aimed at cultivating a new entrepreneurial mentality in Greece, based on circular economy, green development, and business model transformation. It is addressed to companies, agencies, and organisations that are adopting modern practices for the utilisation of raw materials, construction materials, technologies, energy, recycling, and packaging, which, through innovative solutions and smart partnerships, will have a positive impact on the reduction of environmental pollution and increase the life cycle of products and services, while also creating new business opportunities.
The first step in Greek-Bulgarian cooperation at Forward Green was taken late last year, when the Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Mr Nikola Stoyanov met in Thessaloniki with TIF-Helexpo management, which conveyed to him the proposal for Bulgaria to be the Honoured Country at the new event. During the meeting, the Greek side had stressed that Forward Green is the
first specialised expo on circular economy in the whole of Europe, not just Greece, while the Bulgarian side had shown great interest in participating in the event in question, due to the impact circular economy could have on a country’s competitiveness. Also present at the meeting was Honorary Director of the European Commission in charge of circular economy and insularity, Mr George Kremlis, who had pointed out the European nature of the new event.
