A small \u201coasis\u201d amid an otherwise challenging environment\u2014caused by the rise in gold prices\u2014was how industry professionals described the 39th International Exhibition for Jewelry, Watches, Precious Stones, Machinery and Equipment \u2013 KOSMIMA<\/strong>, held from October 18 to 20<\/strong> at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center.<\/strong><\/p>\n The event concluded with exhibitors expressing full satisfaction, as during the three days they received orders and carried out commercial transactions through their professional contacts. Despite the prevailing climate, heavily influenced by high gold prices, KOSMIMA<\/strong> welcomed a large number of trade visitors and industry professionals from both Greece and abroad\u2014specifically from 16 countries:<\/strong> Azerbaijan, Albania, Australia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Iran, Italy, Kosovo, Cyprus, Serbia, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.<\/p>\n Across an exhibition area of 3,000 sq.m.<\/strong> in pavilions 8, 9, and 10<\/strong>, more than 70 companies<\/strong> from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Turkey\u2014as well as international brands from Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Switzerland, France, and Germany\u2014successfully used KOSMIMA as a platform to present the latest trends in jewelry and watches<\/strong> for the winter season, as well as a venue for professional networking.<\/strong><\/p>\n In parallel with the exhibition\u2019s business dimension, its artistic aspect<\/strong> was once again highlighted through the 36th Panhellenic Jewelry Design Competition<\/strong>, themed \u201cWater: Flowing Shades \u2013 Drops of Luxury.\u201d The competition was organized by the Panhellenic Federation of Silversmiths, Jewelers, and Watchmakers (POVAKO)<\/strong> in collaboration with TIF-HELEXPO<\/strong>. The competition once again played a pivotal role in showcasing the work of emerging creators as well as the artistic expertise of established professionals.<\/p>\n The students\u2019 category<\/strong> included 41 participants<\/strong> with 53 works<\/strong>, while the professionals\u2019 category<\/strong> featured 6 participants<\/strong> with 6 works<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u2022 In the students\u2019 category<\/strong>, the 1st Prize<\/strong> was awarded to Konstantinos<\/strong> Papadimitriou<\/strong> (I.I.E.K. MOKUME ART STUDIES) for his work \u201cDance on the Wave\u201d (earrings), the 2nd Prize<\/strong> to Maria Koumaki<\/strong> (E.E.S. GALILEO) for \u201cTears of Dawn\u201d (earrings), and the 3rd Prize<\/strong> to Amalia Kyprioti<\/strong> (EPAS DYPA Oreokastro) for \u201cNarcissus\u201d (ring).
