The 27th Agrotica boasts a 30% increase in exhibition participations, thousands of buyers from Greece, the Balkans and\u00a0Europe, who will cross its \u201cthreshold\u201d, and a rich programme of side events, congresses and colloquiums. It is being held from 1 to 4\u00a0February at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre.<\/p>\n
There is no precedent to the number and quality of this year\u2019s participations, which have resulted in every inch of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre being occupied. This year\u2019s Agrotica covers a total area of 39,000 square metres of exhibition facilities (a\u00a015% increase in relation to the previous event) and there are 1950 exhibitors (direct and indirect) from 45 countries.<\/p>\n
Numerous group delegations are expected from the Balkans and South-eastern Europe, as well as from European countries. The\u00a0exhibition will be visited by approximately 400 hosted buyers from 20 Balkan and European countries.\u00a0Large organised groups of delegates will make up the many thousands of visitors expected from all over Greece, as significant interest was\u00a0expressed in Agrotica from Agricultural Cooperatives, groups of producers, etc.\u00a0The 7th Agrotica Pan-Hellenic Conference will be held in the framework of the side events, which will feature scientists, entrepreneurs,\u00a0technocrats, academics, agronomists and many others who will highlight all the critical issues facing agriculture.<\/p>\n
The Conference titled \u2018Innovative approaches to the production and growth of Greek agriculture\u2019 is being jointly organised by TIF-Helexpo and the\u00a0Faculty of Agriculture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.\u00a0Also, TIF-Helexpo and the Institute of Bio-Economy and Agri-Technology (iBO) \/ National Centre for Research and Technology\u00a0(CERTH) are co-organising an event titled: \u2018From conventional to \u201csmart\u201d agriculture through the use of robotics technologies\u2019.<\/p>\n
There will also be a Test Drive of a commercial agricultural vehicle on a specially designed course. The agricultural vehicles that will be at\u00a0Agrotica are the MERCEDES X CLASS (first presentation of Mercedes\u2019 new agricultural vehicle in Greece), MITSUBISHI L200, ISUZU D\u00a0MAX and FIAT FULL BACK, as well as a wide range of commercial Vans and LCVs.\u00a0Lastly, the Agricultural Association of Athens Flower Producers – ATHENS CENTRAL FLOWER MARKET (\u0391\u0391S\u0391-\u039a\u0391\u0391) in cooperation with\u00a0the Technological Educational Institute of Peloponnese (Department of Greenhouse Crops and Floriculture) present in pavilion\u00a02 the potential for entrepreneurial action in the sector of Floriculture and Floral Arrangement in Greece, and Greece\u2019s present flower\u00a0production dynamic, which is mainly located in Ierapetra, Hersonisos, Marathon, Troezen, Menidi, Megara and other regions.<\/p>\n
